Border space won back from the lawn, Haverfordwest

Get in Touch

This customer in Haverfordwest is elderly and loves her garden, but she can no longer get down and kneel to do the weeding. The lawn had crept into the borders along the edge of her small garden and grown in around the plants she liked. She didn't have much bed space to begin with, and she was losing more of it.
We pulled the lawn back out of the borders and cut a clean, accurate edge, so the line between grass and bed is as crisp as we could make it. That opened up a good stretch of bare soil. Rather than leave it empty, we divided some of her established plants, like the big variegated hosta, and spread them out to make the most of the new space.
The whole job took under two hours. It was a nice quick one, and she was over the moon with it.
What we did
- Pulled the lawn back out of the borders along the edge of the garden
- Cut a clean, accurate edge between the lawn and the beds
- Cleared the grass and weeds that had grown in around her plants
- Divided established plants, including a large variegated hosta
- Replanted the divisions to fill the reclaimed bed space
- Finished the whole job in under two hours
“Fantastic gardeners. I have tried so many who say they can garden but don't. This couple got on with the job... cleared so many weeds, pruned, planted, edged the lawns etc. They are willing, listen to what you want done and get on with executing to a high standard. A huge "thank you" to Miles and Sam.”
