What a seasonal tidy-up covers

The work varies by season. Here's what we typically tackle:

  • Spring: cutting back dead growth from winter
  • Spring: tidying beds and borders ready for new growth
  • Spring: clearing and composting last year's leaves
  • Autumn: cutting back perennials after flowering
  • Autumn: clearing fallen leaves from lawn and beds
  • Autumn: general tidy and preparation for winter

Who books a seasonal tidy-up?

A seasonal visit works well for people who manage their own garden through the year but want a bit of help at the start and end of the season:

  • People who do their own day-to-day gardening but want a proper reset twice a year
  • Holiday lets and rental properties that need the garden looking good at the start of the season
  • Anyone who has let it go over winter and wants a fresh start for spring, without hassle of doing it themselves.
  • Gardeners who are confident in summer but struggle with the bigger seasonal jobs, especially in winter.

What to expect from us

A seasonal tidy-up is a focused, purposeful visit. We're preparing the garden for the season ahead, which means knowing what to cut and what to leave.

We'll work through the whole garden systematically, removing what needs to go and making sure beds, borders and lawn edges are ready for whatever comes next.

A proper tidy-up twice a year makes everything easier in between.

Seasonal Garden Tidy-Up FAQs

When should I book a spring tidy-up?
Ideally late February to April, once the worst of the frost is behind us. Exact timing depends on what's in your garden — we can advise when we know more about it.
And when for autumn?
October to November works well for most gardens, once perennials have finished flowering but before the ground gets too wet.
Do you take the waste away?
We gather all the cut material and leave it in neat piles. Most customers work through it with their brown bin over the following days, or add it to a compost heap. We don't take waste away ourselves.
Can I book both spring and autumn at once?
Yes, we're happy to arrange both visits together. Just mention it when you get in touch.
