A safer, easier-to-navigate garden for an elderly customer, Crymych

This customer is an elderly lady who can no longer manage the garden herself. When things get this overgrown, it doesn't just look untidy, it starts affecting her ability to get around her own garden. Plants had crept out from the beds along the house and onto the path, and grass and weeds had built up across the driveway, creating a trip hazard.
We cut back everything encroaching from the beds and cleared the driveway. While we were at it, we found a couple of plants worth keeping, so we lifted them, repurposed some soil from elsewhere in the garden, and gave them a proper spot in the beds along the house rather than throwing them out.
We also cleared weeds that had grown up on the driveway around her pond and cut back reeds inside it to give the lilies more room to grow, along with some large ferns that had spread out from the side. All in all this was around half a day's work, and it's made a big difference to how she can get around her own garden and what she sees out of her front window.
What we did
- Cut back plants encroaching from the beds along the house onto the path
- Scraped away grass and weeds that had built up on the driveway, removing a trip and slip hazard
- Saved worthwhile plants and replanted them in the beds along the house with fresh soil
- Completed the whole job in around half a day
